'Don't Look Up!' Two Cheers for 2022

Dear Readers,

My wife and I were headed north for New Year’s, but friends told us not to come due to Omicron outbreak. We then bought blackeye peas and hog jowls, a Southern tradition for good luck, to share with son, daughter-in-law and grandson on New Year’s Day, but just cancelled due to reports of Omicron spreading like wildfire here in NC.
