Global citizens need to know the basics of global history. They aren’t likely to learn it after high school unless they specifically seek it out. I spent a lot of time during my nearly nine years abroad catching up on and improving my knowledge of global history. As I’ve posted, global history wasn’t adequately taught in my public schools.

ShivVZG, a satirist on YouTube, posts funny critiques of school life. He asserts that history teachers tend to be very boring. Except for his annoying sped-up voice (which can be changed in the YouTube settings), he makes some good points.

He argues that history teachers are boring except for those who 1) create Kahoot games; 2) form dozens of Jeopardy questions; 3) dress up as historical characters; 4) organize field trips; 5) add humor to their teaching style.
